After so many years taking part in the pitch process, we were suddenly astonished as we faced the amount of outstanding artwork that never saw the light of day, created for pitches that were lost for any number of reasons. That collected output looked almost like an “alternate universe” version of our portfolio, a whole parallel career known only by us and a handful of people on the other end of the process. That’s why we decided to gather all those style frames together in a book, mostly as an homage to all the studio personnel, past and present, who really put their best effort into those assignments; but also to give those pictures a second chance, maybe allowing them, once free from the vicissitude of the pitch process, to be appreciated for their own artistic value.
